The fourteen40 project is an initiative focused on encouraging people, especially women, to take time to put energy and focus on their own self-care and well-being each day.

You can't pour from an empty cup.

As our lives get busier and louder, we need, now more than ever, to take time each day to quiet our minds and focus on what our soul needs. What this means for each of us is different, and it may change regularly, but we need to make it a consistent practice.

The fourteen40 project is dedicated to encouraging and empowering others to put themselves first, so they can then care for others.

Who's behind the fourteen40 project?  Me!  Hi, I'm Melissa.  I am so excited to start to share my thoughts and story with you, and help encourage you to spend time refueling your spirit.

I'm married to Chuck (over 14 years) and we have 3 kids (12, 10, 9).  I am a speech-language pathologist by trade and own and operate a "largish" small business that provides speech and language services to the Central Florida community.  I also am an adjunct instructor at the University of Central Florida and a consultant for Saltillo Corporation.  As if this wasn't enough, I also operate a nutrition coaching business and run marathons.  You can see why these sacred moments of quiet and refueling are so important to me!  I'll be turning 40 in a few months, and as I approach that milestone I feel more and more comfortable saying "no" to things that do not fill my spirit and nurture ME.  Remember, a "no" to something is just a "yes" to yourself (or your family).
